Patient Information

In a market flooded with dozens of wound care products, here are relevant questions that a patient needs to ask before receiving a wound dressing.

The bio-ConneKt® Wound Matrix is a next generation, all biologic wound dressing that has been cleared by the FDA as a regulated medical device.

It can treat a wide variety of wounds such as diabetic, venous, pressure and vascular ulcers as well as trauma wounds like lacerations and partial thickness burns. It can also be applied to surgical site wounds. Manufactured in an ISO-certified facility, the product has more than 6 years of clinical and safety history as an ideal wound closure solution

How bio-ConneKt Works:

Designed by the inventors to be used in both clinical and austere settings, bio-ConneKt® Wound Matrix is a user-friendly product that requires minimal prep-time. While your doctor is prepping the wound, bio-ConneKt® is hydrated in sterile saline to open its pores for optimal clinical performance, and then directly placed on the wound. Its design allows bio-ConneKt® to be left alone in the wound bed, where it facilitates the body to rapidly rebuild the damaged tissue. Made of purified collagen like scaffolding for a building – it provides the connecting structure that the body needs to repair itself. Your clinical follow-up entails just changing the secondary dressings and monitoring the wound. Over the course of a few weeks, bio-ConneKt® gets replaced by your body’s own collagen.
